Pamela The candlewick look punch needle embroidery has been worked with 2 ply twisted cotton. You can see a picture of this on the page with Candlewick designs.
I am sure that you can use any yarn for this look so long as the chosen yarn will flow freely through the punchneedle.

Pamela The knot look-alike candlewick stitch is made simply by not punching the stitches so close together. There are pattern packs available containing good information and further information can also be found in the book "Punchneedle embroidery-Dancing Needles"

Carolyn Milne Helps to read the forum. Now I know what you are talking about. Going to your site and order some thread as I can't wait to get started. I want to do a candlewick design. Ordered your patterns and needles and several other items - they should be here soon and I can't wait

Val Friesen I am tryng to find a source for candlewick thread. I am planning a candlewick project which will require a large amount of thread. Does the thread come in large cone sizes and if so, what is their website. Hoping someone can help me out.

Pamela Traditionally, many, many uears ago, candlwick embroidery was actually worked with the wick made for a candle as that was a yarn that was available and it was embroidered on a cream colour fabric.

Today it is OK to work with a colour of your choice as there are many colours of candlewick thread readily available

Elfrieda Tiessen I was able to get candlewicking thread recently but I do not know about lace. I'm told that thread is in short supply.

Robbie Purner Hello to all looking for candlewicking yarn. Have a fairly large supply here of new-old-stock 4 ply 100% cotton in many different colors. These are 50 yard cards and not cones. E-mail for info @ rpurner@tds.net

Pamela Thank you for the help on this from those offering supplies of thread on cones. The candle wick thread that I use comes in balls only.
It will be great to know what you are doing with your thread.

Margaret Tyser I am looking for candlewick thread. I am completing a project my mother started many years ago. She died 2 years ago and I do not want her work to go unfinished. She had natural color thread on a cone and I am almost out of thread but still have about 1/3 of the bedspread to finish. Any help would be appreciated.
